What's
In A Doctor's Bag is a book that explains exactly what those
instruments are that the doctor uses, in easy-to-understand language
for kids. The story focuses on a little boy's trip to the doctor,
and his hesitation about it. Actually, it's more than hesitation
The boy is downright scared of the doctor's office and all
the strange looking instruments he uses. Shortly after the examination
begins, the doctor must exit the room. He leaves the little boy
all alone in the examination room, along with the doctor's black
bag full of instruments. As soon as the doctor closes the door behind
him - Presto! The instruments climb out of the bag and begin to
introduce themselves.
This book is
a great tool in demystifying medicine to a child. By the end, the
cold, sterile instruments metamorphose into warm, fuzzy friends
with fun and easy-to-pronounce names. In addition, the book is printed
in the shape of a doctor's bag with a carrying handle so the child
can carry the book like a real doctor's bag. What's in a Doctor's
Bag is a great gift for any child.
